Body Shop Rose Shower Gel

Atlas Mountain Rose Shower Gel. I'm pretty sure no ingredient in this gel has been within a hundred miles of the Atlas Mountains but no matter because it is truly lovely. I love rose scented things more than anything else so this was always going to catch my eye. However, I wasn't expecting it to be so delightfully rosy. It's very concentrated so you don't need much and it's £6.50. Bargain. I love it.

Top Shop

I detoured on my way home yesterday via Top Shop. I am not really a Top Shop kind of girl being at least 20 years older than their key demographic but I've always liked their jewellery and having a look at the make-up.

Being as how I am obsessed with blusher, I found myself buying a cream blusher in the delightfully named Afternoon Tea.

As you can see, it's pink. Very pink. However, it's flattering, has a nice texture and is the princely sum of £6. It comes in a dinky little pot with spots on it and has a mirror. For £6, I am impressed.

I also bought this eye shadow brush.

Again, it's very pink. I seem to like pink this week. This was £4 and the quality is really good. So I spent £10 in Top Shop on two products that could easily have set me back £50 in SpaceNK. I call that a bargain and in celebration of the money I've effectively saved, I am going to Bliss Spa tomorrow to have a pedicure. Beauty maths, I love it.

Nail colour of the week

Essie's Funny Face this week. Great name and proper bubble gum, Barbie pink. I am feeling very frivolous with it on but hey, it's August, the month of frivolity.

John Frieda Straight Ahead shampoo

I'm a big fan of John Frieda shampoos and conditioners. I bought this one last week, I didn't get the conditioner as I have a surplus of conditioners at the moment. Anyway, day one of using it and someone asked me at work what I had done to my hair as it was so smooth and shiny. I didn't take offence that she thought my hair wasn't always smooth and shiny, instead I thanked her and explained my secret. Cos I am kind like that.

I might have to get the conditioner. I do have hair with a tendency to frizziness, it's not a frizz-fest but it can get a bit out of control when the weather is damp. This definitely calms it down. Recommended.

NARS haul

I went a bit mad online with NARS. If I could only have one make-up range for the rest of my life, I think NARS would be vying with Bobbi Brown except NARS is much cooler than Bobbi. Wouldn't we all rather be a NARS too cool for school girl than well, Katie Holmes?

I heard of a 30% discount at NARS and therefore filled my boots. Here's what I got:

Larger than Life, long-wear eyeliner in Madison Avenue. I am sporting this today and already love it, It's very precise, easy peasy to apply and it feels long-wear but we'll see, I've only had it on for half an hour.

Duo eyeshadow in Brumes. I know, I know. What can I say, it called to me.

Satin lip pencil in Luxembourg. I've been reading so much about these, I had to try one. Yes, I picked a lipstick colour online. I am brave. I am loving this, it's not drying at all and it lasts for ages.

Light reflecting loose setting powder. Some call this magic powder. I am not big on powders finding them too cakey and drying but this glides on, minimising any shiny spots. Already I can tell I am going to be a big fan.

I am not a fan of the NARS online service, my order took over two weeks to arrive which is not acceptable. However, I am loving my goodies. Also, a while back I bought the NARS eye primer and it's replaced Urban Decay in my affections. It's fabulous.

Yves Saint Laurent nail varnish

Over on the Sali Hughes forum, Sali herself had a make-up surgery where you could ask any questions. My question was which nail varnish would you pick for your toes and and your fingernails if you could only have one. I let her choose one for each because I am known for my kindness.

I am proud to tell you that she 'bloody loved' my question and answered in a YSL vein. I've never looked at YSL nail varnish before being very much an Essie girl. She picked this one for her toes. And so obviously I had to have it. I also had a pedicure this weekend and I am here to report that Sali is correct. This colour rocks. I keep looking at my toes with the greatest of pleasure. She also recommended other lovely colours and so I can see a new obsession blossoming. Unfortunately it's a bit of an expensive one as they are £18 each. The trials I have to go through to have well-dressed nails...
